Abstract:The soyabean germplasm line G93-9223 (PI595099), an F4-derived line from the cross G83-559 × (G80-1515² × PI230977), was released in 1995 because of its high level of resistance to the Javanese root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne javanica) which is similar to that of PI230977, the most resistant soyabean germplasm identified to date. G93-9223 is also resistant to M. incognita, M. arenaria, Heterodera glycines races 3 and 14 and Xanthomonas campestris pv. glycines. In trials conducted in Georgia, USA, G93-9223 yielded 95% more than PI230977 and had a similar yield to Bryan.
