Title:Variations in certain isolates of Corynespora cassiicola
Authors:Spencer, J.A., Walters, H.J.

Abstract:Two distinct races of C. cassiicola were distinguished by the differential responses of Vigna sinensis [Vigna unguiculata] and Glycine max to infection by 14 monoconidial isolates of the fungus grown on plants in six south-eastern states. Morphologic, pathogenic and cultural differences found between isolates from southern states and isolates from Canada and Nebraska suggested the existence of a new Corynespora species.
