Abstract:Identification of plusiine larvae in soyabean fields in Georgia, USA, in July-September of 1983 and 1984 showed that 98% were Pseudoplusia includens [Chrysodeixis includens], the rest comprising Trichoplusia ni (not abundant) and Rachiplusia ou (one larva only). Control measures, which include the use of a nuclear polyhedrosis virus isolated from C. includens in Georgia, can therefore be directed specifically against this species.
