Abstract:C. cassiicola and P. gregata, found in H. glycines cysts in Illinois, USA, are described. Both fungi are recorded for the first time in H. and C. cassiicola is reported for the first time in Illinois. It is suggested that H. glycines cysts may offer the means of survival for these fungi in the absence of suitable host plants over several years. The paper also reports on pot tests into the pathogenicity of the fungi to Glycine max cv. Century.
