Abstract:Released in 1996 and originating as F6:9 plant reselections from a cross between Century 84 and PI437833, these soyabean germplasm lines (PI596412 and PI596413, respectively) are near-isogenic for brown stem rot (Phialophora gregata) resistance gene Rbs2, with the former line being resistant and the latter line susceptible. The lines have group II maturity, and are best adapted to latitudes of 40-43°N. Both carry the Rps1-c allele for resistance to Phytophthora sojae.
