Abstract:These 2 soyabean (Glycine max) lines, released in 1993, were selected in the F5 generation of the cross Tracy M √ó J77-339. Genetic studies indicated that D85-10404 (PI578246) and D85-10412 (PI578247) are homologous for the genes Rdc1 and Rdc2, respectively, controlling resistance to stem canker (Diaporthe phaseolorum f.sp. meridionalis). D85-10404 also has the major genes Rps1-c and Rps3, and D85-10412 the gene Rps1-b, for resistance to Phytophthora sojae. Both lines have a determinate growth habit and are of maturity group VI, with D85-10404 having a maturity date similar to Tracy M and D85-10412 maturing ~4 days earlier.
