Abstract:	In this paper, presented at the Symposium on international problems in tropical plant pathology at the annual meeting of The American Phytopathological Society in Kissimmee, Florida on 12 Aug. 1986, the symptoms and occurrence of red leaf blotch (Dactuliophora [Dactuliochaeta] glycines) and leaf rust (Phakopsora pachyrhizi) on soyabeans are discussed and recent international cooperative research projects are briefly reported
