SBW2026 Workshop: Phenotypic Plasticity & GxE
In this workshop, we will:
- Phenotypic plasticity and explain two different origins of genotype-by-environment interaction.
- Practice an open-source CERIS-JGRA package to dissect and predict quantitative traits.
- Identifying genomic and environmental determinants underlying phenotypic plasticity.
Graduate Student Poster Competition and Student / PostDoc oral presentations
Abstracts must be submited by January 12, 2026 to be considered for the graduate student poster competition and/or the oral presentation.
- Poster Competition:
- The graduate student poster competition will be held in conjunction with the evening social hour.
- Cash awards will be awarded for the 1st ($300), 2nd ($200), 3rd ($100) place winners on Wednesday morning.
- 15-minute Oral Presentation:
- Graduate Students and PostDocs are eligable.
- Candidates will be notified by January 16, 2026 if they were selected for an oral presentation.
General Poster Information
- Anyone is welcome to display a poster. Posters previously presented at other meetings are welcome.
- Poster display space is nominally 36 inches in height X 48 inches wide
- Poster abstracts will be accepted until 02/09/2026
- Posters may be hung up as early as Monday morning and must be removed by noon on Wednesday.

The SBW Organizing Committee encourages attendees to use the Hilton St. Louis Frontenac for their hotel stay. There are both 2 Queen bed room and 1 King Deluxe rooms available for the SBW.
Your room reservations will help offset the costs of the meeting rooms throughout the conference and to keep the registration cost down.

If you plan to organize a small group meeting and need a meeting room during the workshop, please send your request to Nicole Choquette no later than DATE by indicating number of attendees, meeting date and time.

The floor is open to announcements at the specified time Wednesday morning. You are also welcome to notify Aaron Lorenz if you would like to schedule the recognition of a colleague or make other announcements from the floor.
