Machismo symptoms include floral organs appearing leaf-like and proliferation of buds from leaf axils. May resemble Withes-broom. May be unilateral with one part of the plant symptomatic and other parts apparently unaffected. May be transmitted by the leafhopper Scaphytopius fulininosus. May infect field bean, and pigeon pea.
