A
postdoctoral research associate position is available immediately at the
University of Missouri to work on the genetic basis of disease resistance in
soybean. The successful candidate will focus on the fine mapping and cloning of
QTL controlling Soybean Cyst Nematode (SCN) resistance. Applicants should have
a Ph.D. in plant biology, genetics, or a related discipline with experience in
plant genomics. The candidate will have an excellent knowledge of experimental
techniques and approaches used in plant biology and genomics including
high-throughput genomics techniques (DNA isolation, sequencing, genotyping and
expression analysis), analysis of gene functions, genome mining and comparative
genomics. The candidate will also have access to modern genomic technologies
and instrumentation through the National Center for soybean Biotechnology at MU
and have a chance to interact with various research programs in the areas of
crop genetics and genomics. Excellent oral and written communication skills and
