Post-Doctoral Research Associate Position
in Soybean Functional Genomics
A post-doctoral
research associate position is available immediately at the Soybean Genomics
and Biotechnology Laboratory at the University of Missouri. The main
responsibility of this position is to identify and characterize candidate genes
for genetic improvement of yield and abiotic stress tolerance with an emphasis
on drought and flooding. Applicants
should have a Ph.D. in genetics, plant biology, or a related discipline.
Experience in high throughput molecular cloning techniques, construction of multi-gene
cassettes and plant transformation vectors, and analysis of transgenic plants
is essential. Familiarity with various bioinformatics tools and genome data
mining is a plus. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the
ability to work well in a collaborative research environment are essential.
